World Cleanup Day 2022 & Apéritif

As Rotaractors, we believe in coming together to protect and conserve our natural ressources in an effort to address environmental degradation. Rotaract Genève International joins the World Cleanup Day 2022 on September 17th.

What is the program?

  • We will meet at Salle communale de Pregny-Chambésy (Google Maps) at 2.45pm
  • Participants will be handed gloves and trashbags
  • We will clean up the commune in groups of 4
  • We will meet again at 5pm at Salle communale to recycle all collected waste
  • We will have an apéritif at Restaurant L’Auberge starting at 5.30pm (menu and prices)

Who can participate?

Everyone! Rotaractors, Rotarians as well as their friends and family.

How to get to Pregny-Chambésy?

  • From bus stops Bel Air, Cornavin, Nations : take bus 20 towards Valavran and exit at Chambésy-Fountain (bus goes every 15min, ride is 20min or less depending on the departure bus stop).
  • Or from Geneva’s main station (Cornavin): local train every 15min to Pregny-Chambésy, in a 7min ride (valid with Geneva’s public transport ticket). Walk 10min from Pregny-Chambésy station to Salle communale.

Do I need to register?

Yes! You can register with or without login. This helps us keep you informed (by email or phone) in case there is any change of plan (weather, restaurant, etc).

About World Cleanup Day

World Cleanup Day is a global operation, launched by the non-profit organisation Let’s Do it Foundation, with the aim of fighting pollution through citizen clean-ups.  Let’s Do it World is an accredited member of the United Nations Environment Program and was established in 2008 in Estonia. On September 19th, 2020, the World Cleanup Day united 11 millions people across 166 countries during a year marked by the covid-19 pandemic. Since 2018, World Cleanup Day has brought together millions of people for the biggest waste collection day in human history.
