Organizer(s):
Giving blood provides an essential lifeline to those in need. Multiple blood types are low in stock in the Geneva region. Currently four out of five people will need blood once in their life. Presently only 2.5% of the Swiss population give their blood. Giving blood the first time can be scary and raise many questions. Let's experience this moment together before celebrating with a restorative and delicious brunch in one of Geneva's pastry kingdom!
Can I give blood?
To be allowed to give blood at the HUG, you need to be aged between 18 and 60 years old and weight more than 50 kg / 110 pounds. Before your first donation, a short confidential interview will take place in order to consider your overall health. Conditions that might lead to a refusal are:
- Positive test to AIDS, Hepatitis B or C, Syphilis

- You will be asked to provide an identity document and your personal file will be created (5min)
