We are Maison Khusi, a project created by 5 students (Laura Corbiere, Arlinda Kameri, Célie Landry, Sara Yemane, Gaia Hurni) of the University of Geneva as part of the “Projets Responsables” course. The 5 objectives are:
- Provide a stable and secure family living environment
- Promote the health and well-being of children
- Offer an infrastructure adapted to the needs of children from 0 to 6
- Meet the nutritional needs of the children
- Find an adoptive family & encourage legal adoption
Goal
Our mission is to renovate a building in West Bengal (India) and transform it into an orphanage for young children who lost their parents during the COVID-19 pandemic. They find themselves in the streets, left to themselves, starving, victims of prostitution, pedophiles and exploitation. Our main objective is to provide them a stable and secure family living environment. To do so, we need to raise the sum of 11’583 CHF.
Finance
We organized a Christmas raffle last semester and received multiple donations, which allowed us to raise a total of 9’167 CHF and to start the renovation of the orphanage. We now need your support to be able to raise the remaining amount of 2’400 CHF!
